Wine Spectator Award of Excellence

We are a proud recipient of the 2015 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. This distinction is given to wine lists that offer a well-chosen, vast selection of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. At AquaKnox, we design our evolving wine list to accommodate and complement our global water cuisine and fresh selection of seafood.

 

Our small, but balanced wine list currently includes 315 selections of both red and white varietals from the U.S., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Chile, and New Zealand. Always looking to increase our selections and continue working with great wine producers, we keep up with emerging wine trends including high-acid whites and unique winemaker styles adding new varitels to the restaurant’s list such as Albarino, Soave and Vouvray.

 

With a primarily seafood-based menu, our wine list calls for a wide selection of white wines and light bodied reds. We offer 25 wines by the glass, including both a six and nine ounce pour, 25 wines by the half-bottle, 260 wines by the bottle, and three specialty magnums (double bottles) for larger groups.

 

When guests arrive they’ll notice our unique wine storage tower at the restaurant’s entrance that houses approximately 2,140 bottles of red wine. The tower is held at a constant 60 degrees Fahrenheit and the bottles are binned horizontally so that all of the corks are kept damp. Our selection of champagne and white wines is kept in a chilled cooler with space for up to 300 bottles.

 

While we are proud of our wine list, it’s the care and commitment from our entire staff to learn the wine characteristics, regions and vintages that truly sets us apart. We focus on in-depth wine training for our team to ensure that everyone is more than capable of picking the perfect wine to pair with any dish and please all palates. Our wine list is constantly evolving to cater to feedback received from guests and staff alike.
